Great winter restoration project. Marked PAN AMERICAN and MADE IN U.S.A.as well as ELKHART-IND. Serial number is 216042. This should be a great instrument to research. I am not sure if this is a cornet or a trumpet.
Condition is as shown in photos. Looks to have been silver plated. Shows wear from heavy use including finish wear down to the brass in some areas. Discoloration and some small scratches and scuffs.
Not abused.just played a LOT. Imagine the stories it could tell. Slides are stuck. Could most likely be made operable with a little elbow grease. Valves seem well and are as shown. I blew thru it and it does play.
Bell looks nice as shown. Mouthpiece is marked Vincent Back 7C and seems to fit well. No case with this instrument. Auction includes only what is shown.
Overall Impression Overall. This Vintage Cornet/Trumpet has a LOT of character. I normally don't like instruments with a lot of wear, but this one is a exception. It has a lot of great old patina without being abused. It will be a welcome addition to your collection or to possibly play with a little TLC. Imagine pulling out this vintage horn at a gig or with family and friends and playing a part of history.

Serial number dates this one to 1949. It includes the original case but no mouthpiece. The valves are smooth although not the smoothest I have felt. I pulled them and no signs of rot. They are very clean. The horn has some small dents right where the crook starts to straighten out, and some on the'front' crook as well, but they are pretty small and not major. Otherwise, the horn has.
